Did you know that how you start your day sets the tone for your hormones?
Don't just take my word for it, try these 3 brilliant rituals and see what a difference it makes:
Hydrate for harmony
When we wake up, our bodies are mildly dehydrated. Hydrating with water, especially with a squeeze of fresh lemon, supports liver detoxification which is key for balancing hormones like oestrogen and progesterone.
Why it works: Your liver processes hormones and hydration like this helps it flush out toxins and excess hormones.
Benefits: By supporting liver function, you'll feel more energised and less likely to experience bloating, headaches, or fatigue.
Prioritise Protein
Eating a protein-rich breakfast stabilises blood sugar levels and reduces insulin spikes that may disrupt cortisol (stress hormone) and oestrogen balance.
Why it works: Balanced blood sugar prevents hormonal imbalances that contribute to mood swings, cravings and energy dips (think about those dips at 2pm when you want to crawl under your desk).
Benefits: Stable energy, fewer cravings, and a clearer mind to tackle your day! It doesn't need to be a gourmet meal either... maybe some yoghurt and berries, apple and nut butter or homemade protein balls.
Mindful Movement
Gentle stretches, yoga, or Pilates lower cortisol levels, the stress hormone that can throw other hormones off balance.
Why it works: Exercise in the morning primes the body to handle stress better throughout the day by regulating cortisol and releasing feel-good endorphins.
Benefits: Increased mental clarity, reduced stress and better mood control.
Give these tips a go and see how much better you feel!
The real magic happens when we implement small, consistent changes and stay tuned in with what our body needs
